Deciding on what light fixtures to use is not always the simplest task. Whether you are looking for a quick update to your home or are starting from scratch from the ground up; your light fixtures should reflect your homes style without overwhelming the space or leaving it looking sparse. There is a wide variety of options available for lighting but what are the pieces that will keep a home fresh and exciting when there are so many options to choose from? Let me give you my top picks for light fixtures this year and hopefully it inspires you to dive a little deeper into the bright world of lighting! Halo LightingOkay, this is the style of lighting that I came across last week that made me want to do this post in the first place! I am obsessed with this look! It is so sleek and unique and would give so much character to a space. It's eye catching and will surely grab anyone's attention when they come into your space. Although it is more on the expensive side, this would be a piece that would be stylish for years to come. If you are going for cool and modern space I would definitely considered incorporating this trend somehow. Smaller versions of pendent ring lights are also available for the same amount of style but a lot less cost. I have never seen one of these fixtures in person but I would imagine they would work best in a space with a good amount of natural light. If I get the chance to see one in person I will have to update you all on the amount of light it truly gives off (fingers crossed that happens sooner than later!) Geometric LightingGeometric shapes and characteristics can be seen in a lot of styles of lighting. I personally think that geometric lighting looks best when in small clusters, like you see in almost all of these examples I've pulled. My favorite is the group of black fixtures below that work seamlessly above what appears to be a dining space. They fill up the space above the table as well as provide a visually interesting layout for the wall directly behind it. I could see a cluster of wooden geometric lights hanging in the corner of a kid's room or in a small nook space. The size and color of the pendents would add texture but also some playful charm to any space. For a more traditional (but slightly modern) look, a rectangular chrome pendent in a foyer or a few above a kitchen island would keep the space looking updated and fresh without going to far into the world of intricate geometric fixtures. Modern Farmhouse LightingThe farmhouse trend doesn't seem to be dying down anytime soon so let's talk about some updated lighting options for this easy decor style! If you want to do a rustic, farmhouse look then keep it simple with sleek lines and materials instead of an overhaul on mason jar lighting and rustic wood chandeliers. Trust me, less is more when it comes to this style. With the example above, you get that modern farmhouse, classic "all American" look without totally overwhelming the space. The geometric lines give it a modern flair but the overall shape is still very rustic and timeless. I love the chain detailing and think that this would look great above a kitchen island or a dining room table. And check out the two examples below; they are both minimalistic yet can pack a punch either with their size or their contrasting color (black light fixtures against neutral colored walls, I love it!) I hope this post gave you some inspiration for lighting options either in your current space or future spaces you may be thinking of! I am hoping to do a post similar to this of more budget friendly options or even a few tried and true DIY options for y'all as well! If there any DIY light projects you have already tackled then share them with me in the comments below! Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you again soon!
