Even though there are only a few weeks left of Summer there is still plenty of time to update your outdoor space! Plan on having your friends and family over to enjoy some cold drinks or some funny story-telling until well past midnight because you aren't going to want to call it a night after your outdoor space gets a revamp like this. Check out some of my favorite inspiration pictures and my top tips for knocking these DIY projects out in a weekend! I love the idea of adding curtains to an outdoor space! They create a dreamy, high class vibe for your space; something you would see in hip restaurants or hotel bars. To totally change the atmosphere of your outdoor deck or patio invest in a rod system with neutral curtains. A tension rod is a good budget friendly option. Make sure they are going to be able to handle any sort of weather, look for fabrics that are fade and mildew resistant, and manufactured for outdoor use. Also don't forget that it may be best to store them in the Winter to keep them looking fresh and clean for the Spring and Summer, the time when you would get the most use out of them! I recently went to Savannah, GA and discovered the "Savannah Swing" at 24e Design (their site is linked in the picture to the right!) It is truly a magical piece to say the least! I am obsessed with the idea of lounging on a large, totally suspended, comfy twin sized couch for the rest of the Summer. It would add so much coziness to an outdoor deck, front or back patio! I love the model that 24e has put together but I don't have that kind of money to drop and I am wildly curious to see if there is a way to duplicate this piece on my own. It would be my biggest DIY project to date! Comment below if you would like to see me sketch out and design my own version of this swing! With enough support behind me I would feel totally confident taking this on! I say this a lot but neutrals with pops of color are awesome and it's even more awesome when you can bring a knockout neutral and fun color combo (wow say that three times fast!) to a space! Without breaking the bank you can take a quick trip to TJMaxx or Home Depot and find a handful of fresh pieces to liven up your outdoor space! Keep them in the same color family and you can't go wrong. Don't be afraid to add in funky pieces like mirrors, accent tables, etc. Remember I've been into eclectic vibes lately and that means bringing in unexpected pieces as well as cool classics and making them work together in the same space! Something you can do in any outdoor space with a little help from me! When it comes to your outdoor spaces, keep it light and bright and make sure to invest in some plants too! You want your outdoor space to be just as inviting and comfortable as your indoor spaces and a great way to do that is to treat your deck as another living room. Keep in mind that just like the curtains, any fabric materials you put outside like a rug or cushions or pillows needs to be for outdoor use! Here are a few of my favorite small decor pieces that would be a great starting point for building the outdoor space of your dreams!
