A few months ago I found this total cutie of a chair that was just begging to get done over and given a brand new life! Trust me on this, I could sense it! So I picked her up and brought her home and then let her sit...and sit...and sit. I know that's one of my big rules for DIY-ing a furniture find, don't let it just sit in a corner collecting dust! Well I finally got my gears in motion and shopped for fabric on fabric.com (my go-to for all things fabric now!) and found a beautiful design from Robert Allen @ Home and ordered it as quick as I could! I loved the geometric design of the fabric I chose and the simple white lines that had a sloppier, hand drawn effect to them. I knew the combination of charcoal grey and white would be versatile enough to use in any space I could think of! Originally I wanted this to be my new desk chair (still didn't have a desk though at the time) but I ended up being really inspired by the idea of having a cozy little nook in my updated bedroom makeover so I decided to use it for that! But before I got it reupholstered it felt like I was sitting on a stiff bubble of air that could pop at any minute! Not ideal for a reading nook chair. Or any kind of chair really. ...........
Luckily Angel, owner of Angel Upholstery in Chapel Hill, NC took care of that issue completely! After I got the fabric ordered I sent the chair and the fabric over to Angel and within a week I was able to pick up my piece! It felt and looked like a brand new chair! The skirt was totally hiding the gorgeous dark stained legs which have clean lines that compliment the lines in the fabric I chose, a big plus for me! I am so happy with the overall look of this piece and can't wait to finish up my entire bedroom and get my new nook looking cozier than ever. All this project took was an imaginative eye and some quick help from a local business! I can't wait to do more furniture makeovers in the future, I'm hooked! Check out the finished piece below and let me know what you think of my makeover style in the comments below!
