Pantone's Color of the Year for 2018 is Ultra Violet, a dramatic and powerful purple shade. So it's no wonder that Lavender and Lilac, some of the dreamiest shades of purple out there, are going to be huge this Spring. These colors are a more soft and subtle way to introduce purple into your space. I personally have never thought of myself as a purple gal but after curating a new Spring 2018 color board on my Pinterest, I am in love with these shades! So let's dive into it and look at how you can incorporate these pretty pastel hues into your spaces. The Details 1. Bedding is always a good bet when introducing a new color into your space that you're a little unsure of. It is an easy way to add a good amount of color to your space without it being too overwhelming. I love the look of these washed linen, "lived-in" sheets. You can find linen sheets such as this set from Etsy or Target. 2. How cute is this bath matt? I am absolutely obsessed with it! It is super playful and the perfect shade in my opinion. No matter how you are decorating your space, don't ever forget to have fun with it! 3. If you aren't in the mood to invest in all new bedding, then play around with some throw pillows! I can easily picture layering a few throw pillows featuring lots of cool textures and shades of purple on a bed. It would just make it look that much more dreamy and comfy. Homegoods is always my number one spot for throw pillows. 4. You all already know how much I love and adore me some Ayla Suede Art. I have seriously been slacking in my wall art game and need to set up another order with Ayla! Last year she had this incredible piece come to life and it has always been one of my favorites for it's bold color palette and incredible movement. Check her out at suede-art.com for more! 5. An interesting trend I've been seeing lately is agate wallpaper/murals. I know the overall agate trend has already had it's shining moment but I think by going bigger and on a larger scale could liven it up again. I think it could be a fun way to add some accents to your space, if you're willing to go bold! 6. Speaking of accents, you all know how much I love an accent wall or two. And how fun would a pop of lavender be in a dining space or in a bedroom? I love the mix of natural wood tones, the lavender wall and the pops of black. It keeps it modern and fresh without being too busy or overwhelming. 7. This is sort of a two for one. I love the idea of incorporating these colors into a print you can frame and display wherever, and I also love the idea of using lavender and lilac fabric to do up some fun furniture/decor projects! Whichever direction you go, there are so many shades of this color that you really couldn't go wrong however you incorporate it into your décor! Hope you enjoyed another installment of #theknowhows series! What color should I do next? Let me know in the comments below!
