I have been so anxious trying to get this post right. My room is such a haven for me and it is where I truly feel the most comfortable and the most at ease. I know there's probably a lot of you reading that can relate! I always try my most "out there" decorating ideas in this space first, I brainstorm here, I sometimes let it get so beyond messy it takes days to clean...it really is an extension of myself. That is partly why it has taken me so long to post an updated room tour. I have posted here and there before about my bedroom but it is always a work in progress so I never feel truly ready to share it completely. But, I am in love with how it is coming along and am excited to see where this Summer energy takes me creatively through the end of August. So without further a do, check out this (what I would call "mini" room tour) space and really look at, well, me! I won"t go through every single thing I own & where I got it from because honestly - a lot of it I have already posted about before or it's a #craigslistandconsignment find! I love shopping secondhand. I feel like my overall aesthetic is not too trendy - pretty colorful and warm - and full of small quirks. It also changes with each new season, just as I would change through my personal style or how I look. Lately I have been very into fun pattern play and a lot of colors! If a piece has at least one color that sparks some sort of joy in me, you can guarantee it's coming home with me! I have spoken about this before, most recently in my Spring Cleaning posts from a few months ago, but it is so important to surround yourself with things that make you genuinely happy. I work 9-5, sometimes even longer, and I spend a lot of weekends away from home visiting my boyfriend and our friends. It's how my life is at the moment, and although it won't last forever, it makes me so happy and feel such relief coming back to my small bedroom space and seeing all my little knick knacks and plants and basically, my stuff! I know that some people don't like to put such high values on their "stuff" but hey - this is my corner of the world that is 110% my creation. I know every detail about every piece in my room and that's something that makes me excited! This space is unique to me and who I am - and I would encourage you to find the same sense of pride in your spaces! Yeah there may be spaces out there in the world that are similar, but none of them will look exactly like yours. What an awesome thing that is! You all know I love my plant babies, and you know my obsession for cozy things like good bedding and candles is real - but this year I have also fallen in love with reading! Yes, such a simple thing that really everyone should be in love with, but I honestly have not read as much as I have the past few months in the longest time and it feels so good! I wanted to display this newfound love of getting lost in other stories (mostly mystery novels and a few childhood favorites) proudly on my dresser. Not all of the books I have up there are mystery, but they are all books that I have either read or that I would like to tackle as soon as possible! I would love to start recommending some of my favorites to y'all! I just finished "Big Little Lies" and let me tell you - that was a page turner! When I wasn't reading it I was thinking about reading it, and thinking about the characters, and just totally wrapped up in the whole story. I highly recommend it! Just give me a few more months to have a nice big list ready and I'll share a few more! I know it was short, but it was definitely sweet to get to share a look into my space here at the #376farmhouse. I am fortunate to have the family I do that will help make some of my visions a reality and I can't wait to continue growing in this space until the perfect little place comes along for me to call all my own and that just like that, it'll be time to grow into a new space! Whenever that day comes, I will be ready to share every step of the journey with you readers, because you are always great motivation! I hope you enjoyed this post! I want to know where your "happy place" is in your space & continue to help you make it the best space it can be!
